Fundamentals of Woodworking I
February 6th through March 12th, 2024
Tuesday Evenings - 6:00 to 9:00pm






Whether you are just getting started in woodworking, or want to brush up on the “fundamentals”, this is the class you want!
Weekly evening classes will focus on basic skills such as:
- A basic understanding of wood and how it behaves
- Selecting stock
- Safe use of woodworking machinery
- Milling stock to make it workable
- Measuring and layout
- Sharpening (chisels and plane irons)
- Using chisels, handplanes, and saws
- An introduction to joinery (dovetails and half-lap joints)
- Acquiring tools
- Design elements/proportions/making things that look good
You'll use the knowledge and skills you gain in this class to build a beautiful, decorative box (see photos).
$425.00 (plus $25 materials fee, payable at first class).
